The Customer service is beyond horrendous. Bestbuy and I made a three-way call with bankmobile over an hour! Yes, over an hour, while they kept transferring us over to a different department, what's worse, each time we were sent to a different agent, we had to continuously explain the situation along with providing my information giving my name again and again. I understand if it was only 1-3 days of hold on my account, bankmobile hold half of my money over 2 weeks. The payment was never authorized from bestbuy, which means the payment was charged from the bank. Then I have a negative balance on my account due to the hold that was placed, the order details was canceled before it could process and therefore, charges were never applied by bestbuy. The first problem I've encountered was when I made an online pick-up purchase for an iPad at bestbuy, it was immediately canceled and so I never get the item. I've been using the bank less than a week yet it's astonishing that within the short period amount of time, I've encountered with numerous problems. This is a warning for everyone else, don't give this bank a chance, Ever. I would never use this bank if it weren't for the fact that my college partnered up with this tremendously awful bank.

Besides that, my fee isn't even half as bad, especially since Bank Mobile boasts about fee free ATMs, but Bank of America has beyond dozens of ATMs here as well as three financial centers (and mind you, this town is pretty small for being considered a "city").ĭon't ever give this bank a chance!!!!!! So much regrets I enjoy Bank of America and at least I can have my fee waived, just from my two (very small amounts of) paychecks every month. Based on my initial experience, and being a factor that I can still use the card as a student ID if the account remains closed, I will be closing the checking account as soon as I receive the card. That being said, I had just transferred to a different local college, and have been contacted by Bank Mobile and the tech college, saying they have partnered as well. Until they all of a sudden started deciding to charge users fees if they didn't use their bank for anything other than refunds. Eventually, I was forced to open their checking account, just so I could have access to the money I was being refunded. Kinda a HUGE red flag when considering the fact that they're dealing with your money that comes back from the school that was initially issued by the government. I then tried to cash it at my bank and was told the issuer owed money to the government and wasn't authorized to even issue checks. When I had received the check, I attempted to deposit it a few times to my actual bank. When I first enrolled in an online university program, the college and "bank" had contacted me saying they had a partnership for my financial aid refunds.

PaulĪccount will be closed as soon as new card from new college is received. BankMobile is continuously working with the schools on educating the students on how refunds are processed. We successfully process millions of students refunds each year for over 800 schools across the country, on time, as disclosed to students when they select their refund preference. BankMobile does not know ahead of time when we will receive student's refunds from the schools or even if the students qualify for a refund. If the student's portal is zeroed out it does not necessarily mean BankMobile has received their refund as it takes a few days for the schools to calculate for each student how much they are to receive. BankMobile will email students once we receive their refund from their school and process it the same business day. Unfortunately some students appear to have a misunderstanding on the timing of the refund process. We appreciate you confirming the refund process works as BankMobile discloses to all students.
